"Seeing a client feel heard, believed, and supported through the legal process is incredibly rewarding."
Stephen is a solicitor in Shine Lawyers' Abuse Law team. Based in our Brisbane branch, Stephen is committed to helping survivors of institutional abuse achieve recognition and compensation for the harm they have suffered — keeping the process as clear and manageable as possible every step of the way.
Stephen's career at Shine began as a paralegal in the personal injury team, working across public liability, motor vehicle accident and WorkCover claims. He also gained experience working on the insurer side of public liability before joining the Brisbane abuse team, first as a law clerk and then transitioning into his current role as a solicitor.
Before studying law, Stephen worked as a teacher's assistant in a flexible learning school, supporting students who needed an alternative to mainstream education. A self-described lifelong admirer of Abraham Lincoln (himself a lawyer), Stephen credits that childhood hero as the spark that first drew him to the legal profession.
Known for his ability to build genuine relationships with clients, Stephen focuses on keeping the claims process simple and ensuring each person feels valued and understood, particularly through what can be an overwhelming experience.
