"Win a VIP NRL Grand Final Experience" Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to the ‘Shine Lawyers 2015 VIP NRL Grand Final Experience Giveaway’” (“the Competition”) offered by Shine Lawyers Pty Limited ACN 134 702 (“Shine Lawyers”).  Information on how to enter the Competition and all details of the prizes also form part of these Terms and Conditions.

Shine Lawyers recommends these Terms and Conditions be read in full.

The Competition is subject to, and governed by, these Terms and Conditions and participation in the Competition (including, but not limited to, lodging entries on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) is deemed to constitute an acknowledgement and acceptance of these Term and Conditions.


By entering into the Competition you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

Competition Period:

The Competition commences at 11:00am (AEST) on 21 September 2015 and closes at 5.00pm (AEST) on 30 September 2015 (“the Competition Period”).

Only entries that are received during the Competition Period will be eligible for entry.

If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned due to any reason beyond Shine Lawyers’ control, it reserves the right (subject to any applicable law), in its sole discretion, to cancel the Competition.


 Eligibility Requirements:

Subject to the below, entry into the Competition is open to all permanent residents and citizens of Australia, aged 18 years or older who:

  • hold a valid Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account;
  • Like and follow Shine Lawyers on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram; and
  • satisfy the creative requirements of the competition and include #shinesfinalsfever in their social media post.
Current employees (full time, part time or casual) of Shine Lawyers (or any of its related entities) and their immediate families are ineligible to enter the Competition.


Entry Requirements:

Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries, and those that are considered unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, obscene, sexually orientated, racially offensive  or contain objectionable content or are otherwise inappropriate (“Invalid Entries”), will be deemed invalid and will be rejected. The determinations in this regard are at Shine Lawyers’ absolute discretion and discussions will not be entered into.  Shine Lawyers also reserves the right to remove any Invalid Entry from the Facebook ages relating to the Competition.

Shine Lawyers reserves the right to verify the validity of all entrants and entries and further reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for submitting an entry that is not, in Shine Lawyers’ absolute discretion, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Shine Lawyers is not responsible for any lost, late or misdirected entries.

As a condition of entering into this Competition, each entrant agrees to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition (including but not limited to, being photographed and interviewed) and grants to Shine Lawyers a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use such footage and photographs and their entry in any media (including, but not limited to, banners, signage, posters, television, magazine, internet, MMS, DVD or other digital or print formats) for an unlimited time for any reason.



The judging of the Competition will take place on Thursday 1 October 2015 between 8:00am and 10:00am (AEST) at Shine Lawyers’ office at 160 Ann Street, Brisbane.

There will be one (1) winner in total.

The one (1) winner will be selected based on the creativity and originality of their entry.

Judging will be performed by Shine Lawyers’ Marketing team, with the decision on the one (1) winner by the Media and Communications Manager.

The judge’s decision is final and Shine Lawyers will not enter into any correspondence regarding the granting of the prizes or any other aspect of the Competition.

The one (1) winner will be:

  • announced on Shine Lawyers’ Facebook page by 11:30pm (AEST) on 1 October 2015; and
  • contacted via private message on Facebook or with an @ mention on Twitter or Instagram by 2:00pm (AEST) on 1 October 2015, at which point details on retrieving the prize will be given.
The winner will be required to present photo identification when they collect their prizes.


The Prize:

The one (1) winner will receive a double entry pass to the pre-game function at the Novotel Sydney Olympic Park to be held on Sunday 4 October 2015, two (2) platinum category tickets to the NRL Grand Final match being played at ANZ Stadium in Sydney on Sunday 4 October 2015 and entry into the post-game cocktail function to be held on Sunday 4 October 2015 (provided however that Shine Lawyers reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if that prize is unavailable for any reason) (“the Prize”).

Any additional costs incurred in claiming and redeeming the Prizes (including, but not limited to travel, food and accommodation costs) are the sole responsibility of the winner.

The Prize is not redeemable for cash and are not transferrable or exchangeable.

The value of the Prize is the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier at the time of printing and Shine Lawyers accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the Prize.

The winner will be required to present photo identification when they collect their Prize.

As a condition of accepting the Prize, the winner may be required to sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by Shine Lawyers in its absolute discretion, including, but not limited to, a legal release and indemnity form.

If the Prize remains unclaimed by 5.00pm on 2 October 2015 it will be deemed forfeited by the relevant winner and a replacement winner may be nominated at Shine Lawyers’ discretion.

Shine Lawyers does not take any responsibility if the Prize is lost, damaged or destroyed in transit.


No Liability:

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies (or purports to limit, exclude or modify) the statutory consumer guarantees under the Competition and Consumer Act or any other implied warranties under any consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia.

Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Shine Lawyers (and each of its officers, employees and agents) are not responsible for, and are excluded from any liability (including negligence) for, any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including, but not limited to, loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition.


Other Terms and Conditions:

Entry into the Competition is also subject to any additional terms and conditions of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  The Competition is however in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Entrants understand that they are providing their information to Shine Lawyers and not to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Any questions, comments or complaints about the Competition must be directed to Shine Lawyers and not to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Shine Lawyers will collect, use and disclose personal information of entrants in accordance with its Privacy Policy (detailed at  All entries become the property of Shine Lawyers and all entrants consent to Shine Lawyers using their personal information provided in connection with the Competition for the purposes of facilitating the Competition, advertising the winners and awarding the Prizes.

Shine Lawyers reserves the right to waive any of these Terms and Conditions at any time in its absolute discretion.

Failure by Shine Lawyers to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
