Shauna is involved in the following Class Actions:
Shauna is a Senior Associate with Shine Lawyers' Class Actions team. Based in Shine's Melbourne branch, she advocates for groups of ordinary Australians — and communities across borders — who have been wronged by governments or corporate institutions.
Shauna is also a member of Shine's International Mass Torts practice, investigating claims involving multinational defendants and alleged harm affecting communities across national borders.
"For me, achieving justice is not limited to obtaining financial compensation. It can also mean ensuring that a person's experience is heard and acknowledged, restoring a sense of agency, and holding a powerful corporation or institution accountable."
Shauna brings a methodical approach, thorough research skills and a capacity for lateral and investigative thinking to her work. She is particularly focused on investigating corporate structures — identifying responsible entities and tracing accountability across corporate groups and national borders. Her close attention to detail and ability to organise large volumes of evidence in complex matters is matched by her skill in explaining intricate legal issues clearly and accessibly.
Before joining Shine's Class Actions team, Shauna worked as a community lawyer practising in plaintiff class actions, personal injury, public interest litigation, consumer law, negligence, discrimination and human rights law, environmental law and administrative law. Prior to that, she worked at a Dublin-based litigation funder on European collective litigation conducted in the Netherlands.
Before her admission to practice, Shauna worked as a campaigner, legal educator and union organiser. During her first year in Australia, she interned with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander legal service, providing community legal education in remote communities, drafting legal information materials and contributing to submissions to the Australian Law Reform Commission on the over-incarceration of First Nations people.
