Glenn has more than 15 years’ experience assisting seriously injured Australians with compensation claims. He is a highly regarded specialist in catastrophic injury and traumatic brain injury litigation.
Glenn is the Legal Practice Manager of Shine Lawyers’ Head Trauma team and has spent over a decade with the firm, including serving as Legal Practice Manager across multiple teams. His extensive leadership experience spans Strathpine, North Lakes, Chermside, Streamline, Claimify, Shine Direct and the specialist Head Trauma team.
Before becoming a lawyer, Glenn served as an Advanced Medic in the Australian Army for five years and as an Advanced Paramedic and Clinical Mentor with Queensland Ambulance Service for 13 years. This rare dual background in medicine and law underpins his deep understanding of traumatic brain injury, neuroscience and the lifelong consequences of catastrophic injury.
Glenn’s practice includes advising clients on:
Catastrophic injury compensation
Complex medico-legal disputes
Appeals and higher court proceedings
He is known for handling technically complex matters involving disputed diagnoses, subtle cognitive impairment and long-term functional decline. Glenn has successfully appealed decisions to higher courts, including a Court of Appeal matter that resulted in a significantly increased damages award for his client.
Glenn understands that traumatic brain injuries are often functional rather than structural, meaning serious impairments may not appear on standard CT or MRI scans. He works closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychiatrists, neuropsychologists and other specialists to identify the full sequelae of injury and present compelling medico-legal evidence.
He takes a collaborative, family-centred approach, recognising that catastrophic injury claims involve not just the injured person, but their entire support network. Glenn is committed to walking clients and families through the process step by step, ensuring they understand the strategy, evidence and reasoning behind every decision.
Beyond his legal practice, Glenn remains deeply engaged in medico-legal education. He has co-authored a chapter in the IOC Manual of Emergency Sports Medicine, taught medico-legal subjects at Australian Catholic University and Griffith University, and established a volunteer program supporting patients at The Prince Charles Hospital with advance care planning.
Glenn continues to research, publish and present internally and externally on traumatic brain injury, neuroscience and neurophysiology, ensuring his clients benefit from the latest medical advances and legal strategies.

Excellent work from Glenn Brown and his team at Shine Lawyers Chermside. I was always kept up to date and if I had any questions all I had to do was ask. My claim has now been settled and I'm happy with the outcome. If you need any legal help I recommend Glenn and his team at Shine.

My experience with the Chermside Office was impeccable, I am so glad they were recommended to me by a friend. Each staff member was very friendly and helpful. Glenn and his team handled my case exceptionally well, and WON. Again, thank you so very much. Very very grateful to all the team.
