Gemma is involved in the following Class Actions:
Gemma is a solicitor working in Shine’s Class Actions team, based in our Brisbane office. Before stepping into her current role, she gained valuable legal experience as a law clerk and through various volunteer positions during her university studies.
One of her key volunteering contributions was to the LGBTI Legal Clinic, where she helped develop a user-friendly interface aimed at improving access to legal support for vulnerable members of the community. Through her volunteer work Gemma has also played a key role in shaping legal reform. Her submissions on the Criminal Law (Coercive Control and Affirmative Consent) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2023 supported the introduction of stronger consent laws and clearer definitions of coercive control and domestic abuse in Queensland.
Renowned for her empathy, integrity, and tenacity, Gemma consistently adopts a client-focused approach in everything she does, ensuring every client feels heard and understood.
"I am not just here to represent my clients, but to truly advocate for them."
