Abuse law
Demi is passionate about advocacy and supporting survivors through the legal process with compassion and care.
Demi Coulis is a Graduate Law Clerk with Shine Lawyers’ Abuse Law team. Based in Shine’s Parramatta office, Demi supports clients pursuing civil claims involving abuse.
Demi has gained valuable experience working in criminal defence law and, more recently, within abuse law as both a paralegal and law clerk. Over the past 1.5 years, she has assisted on a range of complex matters, developing a strong understanding of the legal process and the importance of client-focused advocacy.
“Advocacy is fundamental to the role of a legal practitioner. Everyone deserves to have their voice heard, and justice should be accessible to all.”
Demi has contributed to several complex legal matters involving significant settlements and has recently begun managing her own clients. She is particularly proud of receiving Legal Aid referral matters and building strong, meaningful connections with those she supports.
With a strong interest in the criminal justice system, Demi has completed both a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Criminal and Community Justice. Her academic background informs her work in abuse law, where she is committed to supporting survivors and pursuing accountability on their behalf.
“I am committed to standing beside clients during some of the most difficult times in their lives and helping them navigate the path forward.”
Outside of her legal work, Demi has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service. She has volunteered with Warrah Specialist School for Children with Disabilities, Anglicare, and her local Greek Orthodox Church, supporting vulnerable individuals and families.
Demi is also passionate about wellbeing and mental health advocacy, particularly for disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals.
Fluent in English and with basic Greek language skills, Demi can support a diverse range of clients within the Parramatta community and beyond. She is due to be admitted as a solicitor in 2026.
