Shine Centre of Learning

Illuminate possibilities, ignite passions and inspire greatness

Our learning philosophy is unique and really focuses on you as an individual. As part of the Shine team, you will have opportunities to develop holistically as an individual and take ownership of your development and career.

One of the ways we have demonstrated our commitment to our people has been creating the Shine Centre of Learning. This purpose-built learning centre provides courses in an idyllic bushland setting. There is a real focus on you both personally and professionally as you develop and progress within Shine.

The origin of ‘Tiddalac’

The Shine Centre of Learning – also known as ‘Tiddalac’ – was an idea fostered by co-founder Stephen Roche, stemming from his creative approach to learning within the firm. This type of creative thinking has been a hallmark of Shine Lawyers from its earliest days, with people always encouraged to dare to be different and challenge the traditions of a largely conservative industry.

Situated on a 40-acre (16.9 hectare) property with a tranquil backdrop of the Upper Lockyer Valley, Tiddalac is 19kms from Toowoomba, the birthplace of Shine Lawyers. It is an innovative residential training facility that provides a place for us to conduct in-house learning programs that closely reflect our firm’s values and our commitment to lifelong learning and development.

Built in early 2008, Tiddalac was designed with its surrounding environment in mind. The building blends into the idyllic outback setting to create a connection with the native bushland, even when you are indoors.

It is the perfect place for our people to press pause on their day-to-day, to connect and be themselves and share their experiences and methods for success. The Shine Centre of Learning is unique from any other legal training available because our learning programs cover all legal and non-legal areas of the firm.
