Nickelle Morris is the Team Leader of Shine Lawyers’ Head Trauma Division (previously Major Claims) and she specialises in serious and catastrophic personal injury claims with a specific interest in head and brain injuries.
Working at Shine Lawyers since 2010, Nickelle has become a leader in brain injury litigation, with many other lawyers calling on her for advice and direction knowing the passion and tenacity she shows for her clients. Nickelle has wanted to be a lawyer since she was in primary school. At the end of 1998, Nickelle began working in the legal industry and commenced her studies, while working full time as a paralegal in a large personal injuries team. This planted the seed for her outstanding career in personal injury law.
Nickelle was excited to join Shine Lawyers as she knew the firm had an excellent reputation in personal injury law and she felt their values aligned well with her. Since joining Shine Lawyers, Nickelle has proven herself to be an exceptional lawyer, always looking for ways to maximise the outcomes for her clients. Nickelle is extremely passionate about her work and assisting her clients and their families with their rehabilitation needs, securing great outcomes to ensure their needs are met.
“Looking after clients holistically is extremely important and it involves being proactive in the space of rehabilitation, liaising with case managers as well as assisting with Government agencies such as NDIS and NIIS. We need to ensure that clients and their family are surrounded by the right support network, including rehabilitation specialists, care or nursing agencies and home help,”
Nickelle says that she is “constantly inspired and motivated by the strength and determination that she sees in her clients and their family members”.
Away from her work at Shine Lawyers, Nickelle is a busy mother of two and volunteers her time on a number of committees. Incredibly, Nickelle also finds time to be a member of the Women Law Association of Queensland (WLAQ) and guides other female lawyers in their mentorship program. Nickelle’s achievements were recently recognised when she was included in the Women Lawyers Association List of Inspiring Women for 2019 and nominated as a finalist in the Special Counsel of the Year Category for the 2019 Lawyers Weekly Australian Law Award.
Nickelle says her most memorable moments working at Shine Lawyers are being a part of the amazing outcomes that are achieved for her clients.
