Sam began his legal career as a student intern at DibbsBarker, working in the Planning and Environment team. He then moved into a role as a paralegal in their insurance team, where he developed a keen interest in Personal Injury work. While studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the Queensland University of Technology, he undertook a legal clinic placement at Salvos Legal in Goodna. This exposed him to the impact of the law on individuals in everyday life. He now works in Abuse Law.
Sam finds several aspects of the law interesting, from the drafting and interpretation of the law, to the investigative and research aspect, especially in historical abuse cases. He enjoys the challenges and unique nature of abuse cases as they often require creative and out-of-the-box thinking. He also finds it greatly rewarding to work with survivors of abuse, and he is constantly inspired by their bravery and resilience.
