Oliver Read is a Senior Solicitor and expert in personal injury law with over five years of experience. Practicing in the areas of Motor Vehicle claimsWorkers Compensation, Public Liability claims and Criminal Injuries Compensation, Oliver particularly enjoys working on complex disputes at WorkCover Tribunal.

Initially drawn to legal practice through an interest in social justice work, Oliver enjoys assisting his clients navigate what can be a daunting pathway through the legal process and helping them achieve a reasonable outcome in their particular circumstances.

He is driven by Shine Lawyers’ core value to always stand up for the little guy.  Having worked numerous manual labour and factory jobs throughout completing his studies gave Oliver a unique perspective on how to approach these claims. Having experienced the extensive hours, physically demanding work and difficult employment conditions of industrial work, he can empathise with those clients employed in manual labour roles, and this often translates to a stronger working relationship with his workers’ compensation clients.

“I enjoy assisting my clients in their fight for justice especially in circumstances where they may otherwise be denied this.”

Oliver is based in Shine’s Perth branch. He has volunteered at the Criminal Appeals Division of Legal Aid WA as well as performing advocacy work at the Mental Health Law Centre.
