At school, Nicola excelled at learning modern languages. At university, however, she decided to pursue the language of Law. Now she simplifies it into plain English for the clients she works with in Personal Injuries and other practice areas including Motor Vehicle Law. Nicola also rides a motorcycle herself, which provides her with a first-hand understanding of the issues that riders face on the roads.

Nicola studied Law at Lincoln College, Oxford University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in 1986. After taking the Solicitors Final Course at the College of Law and completing a two-year article of clerkship, she was admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1989. Twenty years later, she was admitted as a solicitor in Queensland after immigrating to Australia in 2006.

Nicola’s legal career began as an articled clerk at a firm in London. The firm acted for high net worth clients and she gained experience in various areas including the Conveyancing, Probate and Litigation departments. For 15 years she worked as a litigator for several firms along the south coast of England. The mixture of defendant and plaintiff work and the dealings with big insurance companies solidified her resolve that she preferred to stand up for the little guy and help regular people get their lives back on track.
