To Neha, an Associate with Shine Lawyers’ Abuse Law practice, gaining the trust of her clients is key to her work. With her empathetic and relatable nature, she is able to easily connect with people from a variety of backgrounds and provides her client’s with straightforward legal advice they can understand. Neha makes sure her clients feel confident in their case from the get-go.
“Building trust with my clients can be an emotional process, and challenging at times, but it is an essential stepping stone to a successful case. Extracting the true impact of the injury is paramount to obtaining adequate compensation for my very deserving clients.”
With 8 years' experience in the legal industry, including the last six as a lawyer, Neha’s expertise is evident in her work on institutional child sex abuse cases. Representing clients from backgrounds such as juvenile detention, state wardship, religious institutions, as well as individual perpetrators, Neha has sought justice for a variety of survivors of horrific abuse.
“I feel privileged at the opportunity to fight for my clients and that, through me, they regain a sense of freedom, equity and most importantly, a sense of power after feeling voiceless for so many years.”
Prior to her work in Abuse Law, Neha practised in Motor Vehicle Accident Claims, specifically in Victoria working within the TAC scheme. She also volunteered at the Women’s Legal Services, helping victims of domestic violence obtain legal protection and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre supporting the rights of some of the most vulnerable in our community.
Neha is a graduate of Deakin University, studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours). In 2014, she completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law and was admitted to practice law the following year.
