Laya Nasr is a Solicitor with Shine Lawyers’ Class Actions team. Based in Sydney, Layla helps ordinary Australians who have suffered wrongdoing by businesses, government and other organisations.

When clients share their stories with me and trust me, I feel honoured and a sense of obligation to help bring justice to them.

Layla was involved in the landmark Palm Island Class Action, which achieved a $30 million settlement for the Palm Island Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Beyond class actions, Layla has practised across the law including in Property, Commercial and Human Rights. She studied laws at the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 2016 and being admitted as a lawyer the following year.    Layla is fluent in Arabic, as well as reading and writing French at an intermediate level. Her communication ability sets her apart from other lawyers.

I pride myself on developing strong relationships and being client focused.
