Katrina Stouppos is a Senior Associate and Practice Leader of the Shine Lawyers Federal Compensation practice area with extensive experience in claims under the Comcare scheme.

Katrina navigates this complex legal system to stand as a voice for injured workers who require medical support, payments for lost income and other compensation to get their lives back on track after an injury.

Katrina joined Shine Lawyers abuse law practice in 2017 and leads Shine Lawyers Federal Compensation team. Katrina obtained a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Psychology and Master of Laws at Australian National University, in addition to a Masters of Arts in Asian Studies at the University of New England.

Katrina’s background in psychology is extremely valuable in her work in light of the roadblocks to compensation for psychological conditions under the Comcare scheme. It also enables her to better understand and empathise with her clients as she guides them through their legal journeys.

It’s Katrina’s extensive knowledge of commonwealth compensation law – a complex and highly technical legal area – that distinguishes her from other solicitors in her field. With only a small group of dedicated commonwealth compensation lawyers across Australia, Katrina has forged strong relationships with key national stakeholders, which enables her to obtain the best outcomes for her clients. Katrina has substantial litigation experience in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and some Federal Court work.

Katrina is a member of the Commonwealth Compensation & Employment Law Committee of the Law Council of Australia’s Federal Litigation & Disputes Resolution Section.
