Katrina Stouppos is a Senior Solicitor with Shine Lawyers’ Abuse Law department. Specialising in commonwealth compensation law, Katrina navigates this complex legal system to stand as a voice for survivors of abuse, fighting for recognition and restitution under various national redress frameworks.
Katrina comes from a diverse academic background, which complements her work as an abuse lawyer. She obtained a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Psychology and Master of Laws at Australian National University, in addition to a Masters of Arts in Asian Studies at the University of New England. Katrina’s background in psychology is extremely valuable in her work, enabling her to better understand and empathise with her clients as she guides them through their legal journeys.
Prior to joining Shine Lawyers, Katrina worked in family law and commonwealth compensation law for seven years before moving to the Law Society of New South Wales as a Policy Lawyer. She joined Shine Lawyers abuse law practice in 2017.
It’s Katrina’s extensive knowledge of commonwealth compensation law – a complex and highly technical legal area – that distinguishes her from other solicitors in her field. With only a small group of dedicated commonwealth compensation lawyers across Australia, Katrina has forged strong relationships with key national stakeholders, which enables her to obtain the best outcomes for her clients.
