Jonathan is a Practice Leader in Shine Lawyers’ Class Actions Practice.

With extensive experience in class actions and commercial disputes, Jonathan fights to protect the integrity of financial markets by holding listed corporations to account for misleading conduct and breaching continuous disclosure obligations.

Specialising in shareholder class actions, Jonathan is passionate about assisting clients to gain access to justice. He has worked on cases and investigations against numerous ASX-listed companies, including Insignia Financial (formerly IOOF), Blue Sky Alternative Investments, NuixA2 Milk and Beach Energy.

Jonathan also played a significant role in conducting two of only a handful of shareholder class actions to have gone to trial in Australia, namely the Iluka Class Action and the Worley Class Action (which is also the only shareholder class action in Australia to have been appealed following a trial).

Prior to joining Shine Lawyers, Jonathan worked at a national compensation law firm for more than 10 years. During that time, he gained extensive commercial litigation experience across a variety of areas including professional negligence claims and contractual disputes.

Jonathan graduated from The University of New South Wales in 2006 with a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce. His Commerce degree included a major in Finance, which has proven invaluable for navigating the complex field of shareholder class actions.
