Frances Bertram

Having worked on both sides of a claim has given Frances insight into the best way to run a case to achieve the most successful outcome for her clients.

She takes the time to understand the needs of each client, to develop and maintain strong working relationships and recognises there is a face and a personal story behind each claim.

Frances is a Practice Leader and Special Counsel with extensive experience in personal injury law. For over 20 years she has represented clients across Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Public Liability, Professional Indemnity, and Total and Permanent Disability claims. Her special interest in Medical Negligence claims originated from her work acting for many clients in a class action against Dow Corning for failed breast implants.

Frances has personally been through the claims process after her husband was seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident. It was this that inspired her to pursue a legal career, and to ensure she helps every client navigate the claims process while going through a difficult time in their lives.

She also has a strong affinity for medical law fostered by her experience raising a son with special needs. This has empowered her with great empathy for her clients which can only be offered through this shared experience.

Frances is based in the Shine Lawyers Brisbane office where she and her team seek justice for those who have suffered as a result of negligence from those they trusted to help them improve their health.
