Emily Kennedy

Emily is dedicated to supporting survivors through the legal process and helping them achieve meaningful outcomes.

Emily Kennedy is a Solicitor with Shine Lawyers’ Abuse Law team. Based in Shine’s Sydney office, Emily represents clients pursuing civil claims involving abuse.

Emily joined Shine Lawyers in February 2025 as part of the firm’s graduate program. Prior to this, she gained legal experience working as a paralegal in family law and as a law clerk in commercial litigation. Her experience across different areas of law has helped her develop a broad understanding of legal issues and the challenges clients may face.

A career highlight for Emily was settling her first matter at Shine, reinforcing the real impact legal advocacy can have in helping clients move forward with their lives.

Emily is known for her thoughtful and empathetic approach. She takes the time to listen carefully to her clients and provide clear guidance while working to achieve fair and meaningful outcomes.

Before joining Shine, Emily volunteered with Shopfront Youth Legal Centre, assisting solicitors with criminal matters involving individuals under the age of 25. She also volunteered with Parramatta Mission, supporting the legal team with policy review work. These experiences reflect her commitment to community-focused legal advocacy and access to justice.
