CommInsure Class Action reaches In Principle Settlement

Class Actions
The parties to the class action against Commonwealth Financial Planning Limited, Financial Wisdom Limited, Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society Pty Limited and AIA Australia Limited have agreed to an in-principle settlement of $22,500,000 (inclusive of costs, expenses, and any applicable taxes). The action was brought on behalf of Mr Edward Thomas, Ms Diana Tyrrell, Ms Notre Dame Saez Gomez Galarza and group members, who were represented by Shine Lawyers Pty Ltd.
A formal settlement deed is being negotiated by the parties.
The settlement is without admission of liability and is subject to the approval of the Federal Court of Australia.
