As a solicitor in the Abuse Law practice, the strength and bravery of her clients is what drives Rachel in her work. Seeing her clients find peace and closure is to her an immense privilege.
“I believe that, as lawyers, it is our responsibility to use our knowledge and experience to help people in need and hold those in power to account.”
In her time at Shine Lawyers, Rachel has been involved in some of the first court trials run by the Abuse Law practice. Before she began working in Abuse Law, Rachel was an industrial relations consultant. Her work advising workers on their rights regarding unfair dismissals and discrimination is what developed her passion for standing up for vulnerable people.
Rachel studied Law at the Queensland University of Technology, graduating with honours, and was admitted as a lawyer the following year. She can read and speak Mandarin at an intermediate level, possessing a Diploma of Languages (Chinese).
