Shine Lawyers “Who would win a battle of the beasts? An Eel or a Dragon and why” Eels Round 15 ticket giveaway 16th June 2017.

These Terms and Conditions apply to the “Who would win a battle of the beasts? An Eel or a Dragon and why” Eels Round 15 ticket giveaway” (“the Competition”) offered by Shine Lawyers Pty Limited ACN 134 702 757 (“Shine Lawyers”). Information on how to enter the Competition and all details of the prizes also form part of these Terms and Conditions.

Shine Lawyers recommends these Terms and Conditions be read in full.

The Competition is subject to, and governed by, these Terms and Conditions and participation in the Competition (including, but not limited to, lodging entries on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) is deemed to constitute an acknowledgement and acceptance of these Term and Conditions.

By entering into the Competition you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:

Competition Period:

The Competition commences at 10:00am (AEST) on 12th June 2017 and closes at 9:00am (AEST) on 16th June 2017 (“the Competition Period”).

Only entries that are received during the Competition Period will be eligible for entry.

If for any reason the Competition is not capable of running as planned due to any reason beyond Shine Lawyers’ control, it reserves the right (subject to any applicable law), in its sole discretion, to cancel the Competition.

Eligibility Requirements:

Subject to the below, entry into the Competition is open to all permanent residents and citizens of Australia, aged 18 years or older who:

  • Hold a valid Facebook account;
  • Like Shine Lawyers on Facebook and;
  • Are deemed the most creative entry by Shine Lawyers.
Current employees (full time, part time or casual) of Shine Lawyers (or any of its related entities) and their immediate families are ineligible to enter the Competition.

Entry Requirements:

Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries, and those that are considered unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, obscene, sexually orientated, racially offensive or contain objectionable content or are otherwise inappropriate (“Invalid Entries”), will be deemed invalid and will be rejected. The determinations in this regard are at Shine Lawyers’ absolute discretion and discussions will not be entered into. Shine Lawyers also reserves the right to remove any Invalid Entry from the Facebook pages relating to the Competition.

Shine Lawyers reserves the right to verify the validity of all entrants and entries, and further reserves the right to disqualify any entrant for submitting an entry that is not, in Shine Lawyers’ absolute discretion, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Shine Lawyers is not responsible for any lost, late or misdirected entries.

As a condition of entering into this Competition, each entrant agrees to participate and co-operate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition (including but not limited to, being photographed and interviewed) and grants to Shine Lawyers a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use such footage and photographs and their entry in any media (including, but not limited to, banners, signage, posters, television, magazine, internet, MMS, DVD or other digital or print formats) for an unlimited time for any reason.


The judging of the Competition will take place on Friday 16th June 2017 between 9:30am and 10:00am (AEST) at Shine Lawyers’ office at 160 Ann Street, Brisbane.

There will be three (3) winners in total.

The three (3) winners will be selected based on the most creative demonstration of support entries deemed by Shine Lawyers.

Unlimited entries are allowed per person, but limited to one prize per person.

Judging will be performed by Shine Lawyers’ Marketing team, with the decision on the winner by the Brand Team Leader.

The judge’s decision is final and Shine Lawyers will not enter into any correspondence regarding the granting of the prizes or any other aspect of the Competition.

The winner will be:

  • Announced on Shine Lawyers’ Facebook page by 10:30am (AEST) on 16th June 2017; and
  • will be asked to contact Shine Lawyers via private message on reply to their post on Facebook by 2:00pm (AEST) on 16th June 2017, at which point details on retrieving the prize will be given.
The winners may be required to present photo identification when they collect their prizes.

The Prize:

One (1) winner will receive:

  • Four (4) Grandstand tickets
And three (3) winners will receive:
  • Two (2) Grandstand tickets
To the Parramatta Eels' Round 15 home game against the St George Illawarra Dragons in Sydney on Sunday 18th June held at ANZ Stadium (provided however that Shine Lawyers reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if that prize is unavailable for any reason) (“the Prizes”).

Any additional costs incurred in claiming and redeeming the Prizes (including, but not limited to travel, food and accommodation costs) are the sole responsibility of the winners.

The Prizes are not redeemable for cash and are not transferrable or exchangeable.

The value of the Prizes is the recommended retail value as provided by the supplier at the time of printing and Shine Lawyers accepts no responsibility for any variation in the value of the Prizes.

The winners may be required to present photo identification when they collect their Prize.

As a condition of accepting the Prize, the winner may be required to sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by Shine Lawyers in its absolute discretion, including, but not limited to, a legal release and indemnity form.

If either of the Prizes remain unclaimed by Friday 16th June at 3:00pm it will be deemed forfeited by the relevant winner and a replacement winner may be nominated at Shine Lawyers’ discretion.

Shine Lawyers does not take any responsibility if the Prize is lost, damaged or destroyed in transit.

No Liability:

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies (or purports to limit, exclude or modify) the statutory consumer guarantees under the Competition and Consumer Act or any other implied warranties under any consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia.

Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Shine Lawyers (and each of its officers, employees and agents) are not responsible for, and are excluded from any liability (including negligence) for, any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including, but not limited to, loss of opportunity), whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition.

Other Terms and Conditions:

Entry into the Competition is also subject to any additional terms and conditions of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The Competition is however in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Entrants understand that they are providing their information to Shine Lawyers and not to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Any questions, comments or complaints about the Competition must be directed to Shine Lawyers and not to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Shine Lawyers will collect, use and disclose personal information of entrants in accordance with its Privacy Policy (detailed here). All entries become the property of Shine Lawyers and all entrants consent to Shine Lawyers using their personal information provided in connection with the Competition for the purposes of facilitating the Competition, advertising the winners and awarding the Prizes.

Shine Lawyers reserves the right to waive any of these Terms and Conditions at any time in its absolute discretion.

Failure by Shine Lawyers to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
