Legal

• The Law Handbook Online (VIC): The Law Handbook Online features information on a wide range of topics including tenancy, consumer protections, bankruptcy, discrimination, education, family, internet, environmental and employment laws – plus more. It is a practical guide to the law in Victoria in the form of a comprehensive, plain English, web-based legal resource.

• The Australian Lawyers Alliance (ALA): An association of lawyers and other professionals dedicated to the protection and promotion of justice, freedom and the rights of the individual

• Environmental Justice Society (EJS): A collective of like-minded, environmentally-aware people with professional skills who will help you voice your concerns and pursue justice if your life, or the livelihood of your community, is being negatively affected by the actions of a negligent company

• Queensland Public Interest Law Clearing House (QPILCH): A not-for-profit, community-based legal organisation that co-ordinates the provision of pro bono legal services for individuals and community groups

Support groups

• Gippsland Asbestos Related Disease Support Inc. (GARDS): A not-for-profit, non-government, voluntary organisation dedicated to supporting the victims of asbestos-related diseases and their families

• Hypodrive: A not-for-profit national educational awareness program aimed at educating diabetic drivers and their loved ones about the dangers of driving while suffering from a hypoglycaemic or hyperglycaemic episode

• Spinal Injuries Association (QLD): Enhancing the lives of people with a spinal cord injury. They are passionate in their commitment to rebuilding lives, promoting and celebrating independence, and preventing injuries

• Synapse – Brain Injury Association of Queensland:  A not-for-profit organisation passionate about improving the quality of life of people living with and affected by acquired brain injury.
