Due to expansion, our new Professional Negligence – Special Practices in our Brisbane Makerston St Office is searching for a Solicitor to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of this new area of practice and to play a strategic part in its growth.

The Role:

• Provide clients with legal advice and representation to obtain financial compensation for losses suffered by negligent professional advisers
• An interest in developing expertise in the area of professional negligence litigation
• Learning from and being mentored by a department manager with over 20 years experience in professional negligence
• Teaming with the department manager on large and complex claims
• Develop and maintain strong working relationship with clients
• Working effectively with third parties in order to bring about the best result for clients
• Effectively assess claims including liability and quantum
• Draft legal documentation
• Manage and run a mixed file load

Selection Criteria:

• 2 + years of PAE
• Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
• An enquiring mind and an interest in being involved in a diverse range of legal issues
• Experience drafting legal documentation
• Demonstrated strong relationship building skills and experience working in teams
• Demonstrated negotiation and advocacy skills
