Karina believes that being a lawyer, means you have a social responsibility to the community for allowing you to represent people and guide them through the legal system. “Not everyone is allowed to represent others – it is therefore a privilege to do so, and with privilege comes responsibility.”

With this in mind Karina works hard to ensure that she represents her clients “fairly, equitably and to the best of my ability at all times,” she says.

Her sense of duty to her clients is also driven by the fact she has been invited into their lives at a difficult time to try and make a difference. “Being invited by clients into their lives, during a time of great personal hardship – when they are hurt, upset and often suffering considerable financial hardship and given the opportunity to help improve their lives.”
