Shine Lawyers officially unveiled its purpose-built legal training facility near Murphys Creek yesterday.

The facility offers accommodation to the national firm's legal professionals as well as courses for professional and personal development.

On hand for the opening was newly appointed Shine Lawyers consultant and American legal activist Erin Brockovich.

Ms Brockovich addressed a group of captivated lawyers before the opening.

In a reflection of her down-to-earth nature and approachability, Ms Brockovich did her speech barefoot.

She regaled the group with her tales of how she collected evidence for the Hinkley versus Pacific, Gas and Electric Company casewhich was portrayed in the 2000-film, Erin Brockovich.

"Investigative and evidence gathering skills are very specific talents that are not currently taught in traditional law programs," she said.
